Banded Incalmo Bowls:Sleek, modern design is achieved using the centuries' old technique of incalmo: fusing together independent bubbles of hot glass. Incalmo is a difficult technique to master but the result speaks for itself: crisp, clean bands of color. The banded bowl explores the effects created by juxtaposing bubbles of transparent, opaque, or patterned glass. Color, opacity and pattern position is critical and determines the final mood of the piece.
